[FAM-Trp31]-GLP-1 (7-36), Fluorescent label at Trp31
This GLP-1(7-36) amide peptide is fluorescently labeled with fluorescein at 25 tryptophan residues. This is the same type of fluorescent label as Extendin-4 Flex peptide. GLP-1(7-36)amide is an insulin-stimulating hormone that can cause glucose-dependent release of insulin by pancreatic cells. It is a cleavage product of GLP-1(1-36) amide peptide. GLP-1 (7-36) and GLP-1 (7-37) are also involved in gastric motility (gastric emptying), suppression of plasma glucagon levels (glucose production), and may promote the periphery without the action of insulin Tissues play a role in satiety and stimulation of glucose processing. GLP-1(7-36) has a short half-life of less than 2 minutes. Like GIP, it can be rapidly degraded by dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPP-4) and is widely expressed in many sites, including endothelial cells in small intestinal arteries. . DPP-4 degrades GLP-1 (7-36) into non-insulin GLP-1 (9-36) (some studies indicate that it may have weak insulin activity). As a result, the vast majority of GLP-1 (and GIP) are inactivated as insulin growth promoters before entering the systemic circulation.
