The peptide consists of the gp91phox sequence linked to the human immunodeficiency virus tat peptide. The tat sequence helps this peptide enter all cells. It is used as a peptide inhibitor of NADPH oxidase assembly. Compared with gp91ds-tat, the N-terminal is 2 amino acid residues shorter.
