Plasmepsin V FRET Substrate
This FRET substrate peptide for plasma protease V (PMV) is derived from the conserved Plasmodium export element (PEXEL) motif of histidine-rich protein II (HRPII). PMV is an endoplasmic reticulum-aspartic protease that can recognize and cut the RXL sequence in the protein PEXEL motif exported by human Plasmodium falciparum, enabling it to be translocated into host red blood cells.
