MP196, a RW-rich peptide, displays antibacterial properties through preventing bacterial cell wall synthesis and cellular respiration. Due to it lacking hemolytic and cytotoxic qualities, MP196 can be used to synthesis antibiotics and aid in the global problem of antibiotic resistance.
